STATE Administration Council Member, Deputy Prime Minister and Union Minister for Transport and Communications General Mya Tun Oo comforted the staff of the affiliated department, inspected the Typhoon Yagi-destroyed Pawmu and Htithein railway stations on the Taunggyi-Shwenyaung railway section and a steam locomotive to run on the Kalaw-Shwenyaung section yesterday.

On 7 May, the Deputy Prime Minister arrived at the Road Transport Administration Department of Shan State (Taunggyi), and met the staff and instructed them to work together in unity through proper cooperation.

On 8 May, General Mya Tun Oo visited the Htithein railway station on the Taunggyi-Pawmu section, and highlighted the need to complete the operations within the fixed period, meeting the standards, and ensuring the safety.

At noon, he went to the Kalaw station and inspected the steam locomotive that would run on the Kalaw-Shwenyaung section. He then met the MR staff and highlighted the need to conserve the building of the railway station and to ensure the cleanliness of the station to attract local and foreign travellers.

The General proceeded to the Bawa Thanthaya bridge between Heho and Shwenyaung railway stations in Kalaw Township and inspected the location.

On 9 May, he inspected the Thazi railway station and met the quake-affected staff from Thazi, Pyawbwe and Yamethin townships at the town hall of Thazi.

He went to the Central Institute of Transport and Communications in Meiktila Township and met the staff from Meiktila, Thaedaw and Wundwin townships. He provided them with foodstuffs and cash and observed the school compound.
