DAW KYU KYU HLA, wife of State Administration Council Chairman Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, currently in the Russian Federation, held a meeting with Speaker of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation Mrs Valentina Matvienko at the Office of the Federal Council of the Russian Federation yesterday morning.

The Speaker of the Federal Council of the Russian Federation warmly welcomed the wife of the Senior General and her entourage. The wife of the Senior General signed the guest book. The Speaker of the Federal Council and the wife of the Senior General reciprocally introduced their entourages.

At the talks, the Speaker of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation expressed her deep condolences for the losses and damage caused by the recent major earthquake in Mandalay, Myanmar. The Russian Federation will provide necessary assistance in the reconstruction efforts. In Russia, there are initiatives focused on the protection and empowerment of women, including the Eurasian Women’s Forum, which is held every three years. This forum actively addresses the challenges faced by women and children. She expressed her hope that Myanmar will also be able to participate in such initiatives related to women.

The wife of the Senior General said that after experiencing the earthquake disaster in Myanmar, the country received assistance and support from the international community, including the Russian Federation. So, Myanmar expresses its deep gratitude for this kind of support. The multifaceted assistance provided by the Russian Federation has been of great benefit to Myanmar, and Myanmar will further beef up cooperation.

They also cordially discussed the potential for cooperation in the education and economic sectors between the two countries.

After the meeting, they exchanged commemorative gifts and posed for documentary photos together with attendees.
