THE Myanmar Red Cross Society (MRCS) has been providing food, consumer goods, and cash to households in areas affected by the Mandalay earthquake since early May, according to the organization.
A total of K50,000 per household was provided to families in areas affected by the earthquake. This included 296 households in Nyanatheikdi Ward of the Nay Pyi Taw Council Area, 320 earthquake-affected households in Wachet Village (Wachet Hsinphyushinhla), Kyaukta Village, and Taungnyo Ywathit Villages in Sagaing Township, Sagaing Region. Similar assistance was also extended to 31 households in Kyatmintoon Extension Ward, Myitta Chantha Temporary Camp, Kyaukse Township, Mandalay Region, and 248 households in Nampan Ward, Nandawun Ward, Mongthaukinn, Pepininn, and Thaleooinn Village in Nyaungshwe Township, Shan State (South), totalling 859 households.
In addition, each household in the Mandalay earthquake-affected areas received food, kitchenware, tarpaulins, mosquito nets, and personal hygiene products for both women and men. The MRCS will continue providing food, consumer goods, and cash to households in the remaining areas affected by the earthquake.
