The Yangon Region Myanmar Journalists Association (MJA) held its fourth annual conference and elections for regional executive members yesterday afternoon at the premises of Kyingakyi Sutaungpyae Pagoda in Bahan Township, Yangon.

Yangon Region MJA Chairman U Khin Maung Myint and Myanmar Journalists Association (Central) Chairman U Myat Khaing delivered opening speeches. Vice-Chairman U Thet Tin presented a report on activities undertaken during the third term. Joint Secretary 1 U Tin Win explained the arrangements for electing the executive committee for the fourth term.

Delegates were then issued ballot papers and cast their votes through a secret ballot system with township representatives participating.

As a result, the newly elected executive committee for the fourth term was formed, comprising Chairman U Tun Yin, two vice-chairpersons, Secretary U Tin Win (Tin Win Lay – Kyimyindine) and nine executive members. The committee members pledged to carry out their responsibilities faithfully.
