The Tatmadaw Naval Hospital Ship (Thanlwin) accompanied by specialist medical teams consisting of experienced physicians, surgeons and nurses delivered healthcare services to local communities along the Taninthayi coastal region.

The initiative targets residents from nearby villages in Yangon Region’s Cocogyun Township and Ayeyawady Region’s Hainggyikyun Township.

Starting yesterday morning, the Tatmadaw Naval Hospital Ship (Thanlwin) established its base at Malit Island Station Hospital and commenced providing healthcare services to 392 residents from Mali Island and surrounding areas.

The medical services rendered included treatments across various disciplines: 71 patients for general medical care, 20 for surgical conditions, 30 for obstetrics and gynaecology, 25 for paediatrics, 45 for orthopaedics, 20 for ENT (ear, nose, and throat) conditions, 95 for ophthalmology and 86 for dental and oral healthcare.

Diagnostic services were also provided to patients. Four patients underwent radiography, 24 were tested using the Atherosclerosis Analyzer, 24 received ECG heart examinations and 12 patients had laboratory tests conducted.
