Stimulant tablets valued at K650 million which will be transported from Shan State (South) to Yangon, were seized, as reported by the Myanmar Police Force.
A combined team, including members of the Anti-Drug Police Force, conducted a search of a Toyota Mark II, travelling from Taunggyi to Aungban, driven by Han Lin Kyaw accompanied by Ma Yoon Thiri Kyaw at 5:30 pm on 4 January and seized 400,000 stimulant tablets.
According to the investigation, the police force seized 300,000 stimulant tablets from a Honda CRV, heading to Yangon from Taunggyi, driven by Zaw Zaw Aung (aka) Htet Aung accompanied by Than Htun and Kyaw Win (aka) Bali near Kyweltatson village in Thazi Township at 11 am on 5 January.
Offenders admitted Sai Htun Hla in Loilem Township bought the seized drugs from Sai Ba Maung (aka) Ko Ba (aka) Sai Yoon in Kunhing Township supervised by Sai Lah (aka) Ko Sai in Namsang Township and transported to Taunggyi Township for selling 400,000 stimulant tablets to Han Lin Kyaw and Ma Yoon Thiri Kyaw.
Afterwards, 300,000 stimulant tablets were transported from Taunggyi to Yangon by Zaw Zaw Aung (aka) Htet Aung, Than Htun and Kyaw Win (aka) Bali.
The combined team including security forces along with PNO local transformed militia arrested Sai Htun Hla in Hopong Township, Aung Kyaw Htay (aka) Ko Htay and Sai Wai Aung in Thingangyun Township and U Oo Thant Zaw in Tamway Township.
Legal proceedings were conducted against the offenders, and an ongoing investigation is underway to apprehend others involved in the case.
