THE Russian delegation led by Mr Sholban Kara-Ool, Deputy Chairman of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, arrived in Bagan ancient cultural zone in NyaungU township of Mandalay Region, by flight yesterday morning. They were welcomed by Mandalay Region Social Affairs Minister U Aung Kyaw Moe, Advocate-General U Myint Aung, Director-General of Archeology and National Museum Dr Kyaw Oo Lwin and relevant officials at Bagan-NyaungU airport.

Then, the Russian delegation visited the Shwezigon, Htilominlo and Ananda temples in the Bagan Ancient Cultural Heritage Zone, the U Ba Nyein lacquerware shop and the Bagan Archeological Museum in Bagan Myothit.

At noon, the delegation headed to Pathein by flight and was welcomed by Ayeyawady Region Chief Minister U Tin Maung Win, the Commander of Pathein Airbase, regional ministers, officials concerned and students at Pathein Airport.

The Russian delegation then watched the talent show of elephants at Ngwehsaung Resort and Elephant Camp and visited Ngwehsaung Beach.

The regional chief minister hosted dinner for the Russian delegation at the Eskala Hotel.
