Chairman of the State Security and Peace Commission of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar Senior General Min Aung Hlaing awarded US$30,000 to Myanmar national women’s football team which sailed to the final of the AFF MSIG Serenity Cup 2025 with a 2-1 win over Thai team in the semifinal hosted by Vietnam.

The Senior General said: “I am proud of all the players of Myanmar’s women’s national team for reaching the final without losing a single match. Their unity and determination are truly commendable. I urge the team to give their utmost effort in the final, compete with full strength, and bring honour to the State. Winning the championship will be a deserved achievement, and the State will also duly recognize and honour it. Therefore, I encourage the team to focus systematically and prepare well for the final match”.

Union Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Jeng Phang Naw Taung conveyed the word of encouragement of the Senior General to Myanmar team captain Win Theingi Tun, in-charge Daw Nweni Oo and players.

As reaching the final match, Myanmar women’s team has bagged US$30,000 and K200 million as cash awards.

The final match between Myanmar and Australia will take place at Lach Tray Stadium at 7:30 pm on 19 August.
