Union Civil Service Board (UCSB) Chairman U Aung Thaw, who is also the Myanmar-Russia Friendship Association Chairman, received the Russian delegation led by Mr Sholban Kara-Ool, Deputy Chairman of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday afternoon.
They openly discussed ongoing bilateral relations between the two countries, the participation of Russian observers in the forthcoming elections, the deployment of Russian interpreters in sharing international practices for holding elections and further mutual support between Myanmar and Russia.
The UCSB chairman also received Mr Uladzimir Baravikou, Ambassador of Belarus to Myanmar, yesterday morning. The chairman and Belarusian ambassador planted a Ceylon ironwood tree in the UCSB office compound marking the 25th anniversary of the establishment of Myanmar- Belarus diplomatic relations.
The two parties discussed the holding of commemorative events marking the 25th anniversary of the establishment of Myanmar-Belarus diplomatic ties, promotion of bilateral relations through exchange trips of high-ranking representatives, strengthening cooperation in the trade, economy, culture and education sectors and enhancement of bilateral friendship.
