THE Myanmar delegation led by Union Minister for Information U Maung Maung Ohn, accompanied by Myanmar Ambassador to China U Tin Maung Swe, Yunnan Province Consul-General U Thwin Htet Lin, toured Kunming and Chuxiong, as part of China-Myanmar Cultural Exchange week being held from 11 to 15 November.

On 12 November, the Union minister and delegation visited Yunnan Vocational College of Transportation in Kunming

On 13 November, they proceeded to the eastern rose valley in Chuxiong of Yunnan and observed the Chinese Chrysanthemums, eternal flowers and roses, which are planted in greenhouses. They also studied the distribution processes of flowers in local and foreign countries via Kunming International Flora Auction Trading Centre and the cultivation of roses using modern agricultural techniques and agricultural machinery development activities that are run with government loans.

On arrival at Kunlun, an ancient cultural city, they observed the renovation of ancient heritages and materials and the development of inbound/outbound tourism.

They then headed to Chuxiong City, and the in charge of the Chuxiong Yi Autonomous Prefecture hosted a dinner event with traditional dance. Meanwhile, the Myanmar delegation also performed and sang the Myanandar song, and concluded the dinner event.

On the same evening, they studied the square and solar calendar and the Planetarium Museum of the Chuxiong Yi ethnic group.

The recreational areas are being arranged for the locals and travellers in the square, and it also places six ceramics representing six Chinese ethnic groups, and the Chinese people celebrate festivals and praying events there every year.

The museum also displays the solar calendar of the Chuxiong Yi ethnic group, one of the five earliest calendars, statues, ancient materials and mythological events.

The square and museum were constructed in 2008, and heavy maintenance was conducted in 2016. After the tour, the Myanmar delegation stayed at the GPX Hotel.
