THE 42nd ASEANPOL Conference hosted by the Myanmar Police Force was held in Nay Pyi Taw on 23 and 24 October. The closing ceremony of the conference was held yesterday evening at the Myanmar International Convention Centre I (MICC I).
Police chiefs from ASEANPOL member countries attended the closing ceremony of the conference. High-ranking police officers, their wives, representative members, delegates of dialogue partners – Russia, Australia, China, INTERPOL and the ASEAN Secretariat, observers: Timor-Leste, ICRC and the UAE, and invitees were also present at the event.
At the closing ceremony of the conference, the following actions were held: the signing of the joint declaration of the 42nd ASEANPOL Conference and, transferring the plaque commemorating the ASEANPOL to the Royal Thai Police, which will host the 43rd ASEANPOL Conference. The leader of the delegation of the Royal Thai Police gave a welcome speech and a video clip on depicting the natural beauty of Thailand was screened and the Chief of Myanmar Police Force delivered a speech at the closing of the conference, and in the evening, a farewell dinner was held at the Myanmar International Convention Centre I (MICC I).
Myanmar Police Force successfully hosted the 42nd ASEANPOL Conference in Nay Pyi Taw from 21 to 24 October. On 23 October, a separate meeting between the Myanmar Police Force and Indonesian National Police, Lao Police Force and Royal Thai Police discussed how to increase police cooperation. The friendly sports tournaments were held. A friendly futsal football tournament between the current host Myanmar Police and the Royal Thai Police was organized. The guests’ wives were sent to the famous places in the Nay Pyi Taw Union Territory, visiting the Maravijaya Buddha Image, Myanmar Gems Museum, the National Museum and observing environmental landscapes.
