DEPUTY Minister for Construction U Win Pe inspected the maintenance work on the Pyawbwe-Phayangasu Road and Meiktila-Taunggyi-Kengtung Road, which were damaged by torrential rains.
The deputy minister first observed the maintenance works between mileposts 10/0 and 10/3 and between mileposts 28/4 and 28/5 on the Pyawbwe-Phayangasu Road and called for repair works using vehicles and heavy machinery so as not to fail smooth transport.
During the inspection at mileposts 40/0-40/3, 45/3-45/4 and 47/1- 47/3 on the Meiktila-Taunggyi Road, he gave instructions to remove the settlers from the creek beside the Meiktila-Taunggyi Road as it can affect the water current.
He then inspected the maintenance works underway at mileposts 54/4-54/5, 57/6, 62/2-62/3, 66/0 and 71/1- 71/3 at the entrance of Kalaw. He highlighted the need to clear the debris, manage the drainage system, prepare road signages to meet set standards and supervise them so as not to cause failure for smooth transportation.
