MYANMAR Rice Federation notified on 30 June that premium rice Pawsan and Myanmar white rice Aemahta could be purchased at reference prices under the Good Rice and Good Price Programme in three big cities beyond the capital, Nay Pyi Taw.

The federation is distributing Pawsan and Aemahta rice varieties in five to ten kilogrammes bags to retailers in those cities. The consumer can buy them at reference prices there.

Additionally, MRF’s affordable rice scheme has reached the whole country, including Nay Pyi Taw, Yangon, Mandalay, Bago and Ayeyawady regions. All business entities such as rice millers, depots, shopping centres, supermarkets, mini-marts, wholesalers, and retailers are selling them at reference prices. Moreover, they provide doorstep delivery service in Nay Pyi Taw, Yangon and Mandalay cities starting from 1 July.
