ON the morning of 29 June 2024, former President U Thein Sein who is temporarily staying in Beijing, the People’s Republic of China, visited Lingguang Temple in Beijing to pay homage to the Buddha tooth relic and met Venerable Chang Zang, Chief Monk of Lingguang Temple to pay his respect. During the meeting, the former President donated a small replica statue of Maravijaya Buddha Image which was conveyed from Nay Pyi Taw.

In the afternoon, former President U Thein Sein received Mr Wang Yi, Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, Director of the Office of the Central Commission for Foreign Affairs, and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China at the Diao Yutai State Guest House in Beijing. During the meeting, they exchanged views on the existing friendly relations and cooperation between Myanmar and China, and recent development of Myanmar.

The Myanmar delegation led by former President arrived back in Nay Pyi Taw from Beijing, the People’s Republic of China by special flight in the yesterday afternoon.

The Myanmar delegation was welcomed back at the Nay Pyi Taw Airport by Admiral Tin Aung San, member of the State Administration Council, Deputy Prime Minister and Union Minister for Defence, U Wunna Maung Lwin, Member of the State Administration Council, U Ko Ko Hlaing, Union Minister of the Ministry 2 at Office of Chairman of the State Administration Council, U Lwin Oo, Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs, Ms Cao Jing, Deputy Head of Mission (Minister Counsellor) of the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China to Myanmar and senior officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
