THE trade value at the Kampaiti border post between Myanmar and China hit US$15.3 million between 1 and 15 June 2024, according to the news released by the Ministry of Commerce.
The trade value at the Kampaiti border post between Myanmar and China is expected to meet a target of US$5 million in June in the 2024- 2025 financial year, including exports worth $4 million and imports worth one million dollars, according to the Ministry of Commerce.
The actual trade value as of 15 June was $15.336 million, comprising exports worth $8.46 million and imports worth $6.87 million, performing over 306.7 per cent of the trade target.
The main export items at the Kampaiti border were tissue-culture banana, dried chilli, onion, dried mango slice, fresh areca nut, black cardamom, various pulses, tamarind with seeds and aluminium scrap. Meanwhile, Myanmar imports capital goods, intermediate goods, construction materials, consumer goods, fruits and fuel oil.
The export volumes on 11- 15 June 2024 were 125 tonnes of tissue culture banana worth $0.043 million, 17 tonnes of pumpkin worth $0.002 million, 467.5 tonnes of onion worth $0.191 million, 82.5 tonnes of black cardamom worth $0.165 million, 28 tonnes of dried chilli pepper worth $0.041 million, 50 tonnes of tamarind with seeds worth $0.011 million and 1,066 tonnes of pulses worth $0.753 million.
The main import items are hollow pipe, iron pipe, ceramic tiles, tyres, tangerine, apples, pears, clothing and fuel oil. The import volumes stood at 374.7 tonnes of capital goods worth $0.45 million, 269.9 tonnes of intermediate goods worth $1.417 million and 657.9 tonnes of consumer goods worth $0.405 million.
A combined team, including one-stop service agencies and departments concerned, is making efforts to ensure smooth trade flow and bolster exports.
