The Yangon Region Tourism Work Committee has granted construction permits to one hotel and one guesthouse worth K23,111 million in Yangon Region in November, according to the 2/2023 work committee meeting held on 24 October.  

During the meeting, it granted one hotel construction permit, one guesthouse construction permit, six hotel licences and one guesthouse licence in the region. The permitted capital amount for hotel and guesthouse businesses of Myanmar citizens a n d the investment amount is K23,111 million and it can create 184 job opportunities.

Moreover, it also issued 102 travel agency licences (inbound and outbound) and 65 travel agency licences (outbound).

Similarly, the region tourism work committee approved six hotel licences and one guesthouse construction permit with 217 rooms at the 1/2023 meeting. The investment amount was K10,067 million and it created 125 job opportunities.

Moreover, the committee permitted K33,178 million investment for the hotel sector in Yangon Region and provided 309 job opportunities
