A delegation led by Ms Zeng Yan, Member of the Standing Committee of Yunnan Province Party Committee and Director of the Public Affairs Department, paid a courtesy call on U Maung Maung Ohn, Union Minister for Information, at the ministry office in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.

During the meeting, both sides engaged in cordial discussions on various matters, including the expansion of media collaboration between the two countries. They also explored opportunities for cooperation with local media in Yunnan Province. The discussions aimed to enhance mutual understanding and familiarity between not only the governments but also the people of both nations. The talks covered various aspects, including television, print media, new media and economic development.

Following the productive meeting, Union Minister U Maung Maung Ohn and the visiting delegation exchanged souvenirs to commemorate the occasion. The meeting was attended by Permanent Secretary U Myo Myint Maung and departmental heads.

Later, the Union minister hosted a luncheon for the delegation members at the Horizon Lake View Hotel in Nay Pyi Taw.

In the morning, the Yunnan Province delegation visited Myanmar Radio and Television in Nay Pyi Taw – Tatkon. They were warmly welcomed by Director-General U Ye Naing and officials from MRTV-NRC Channel. Discussions centred on media cooperation between the two countries, and souvenirs were exchanged.

The delegation also had the opportunity to witness the recording and broadcasting of news at the MRTV News Channel Studio and the recording of the song “Twaychin Thoet Htarnay Myanmarpyi” (Inhabitant Place of Myanmar for National Brethren) by Myanmar Radio and Television staff at the Auditorium.

Additionally, officials provided insights into the equipment used in various broadcasting eras, live televised vehicles, news presentation modules, historical photos, musical instruments, and other exhibits. A total of 40 items, including vintage records and radio equipment, were on display at the Diamond Jubilee Museum of Myanmar Radio and Television.

In the afternoon, the Yunnan Province delegation visited the Gem Museum.

In the evening, the delegation left Nay Pyi Taw by air for Yangon
