THE closing ceremony of the In-house Skill Development Training No 37 for Senior Auditors was held at 7:30 am on 9 August at the Assembly Hall of the Office of the Auditor-General of the Union in Nay Pyi Taw.

At the ceremony, Union Auditor-General Dr Kan Zaw, delivered an address that the purpose of conducting the training is to be able to perform the audit works skilfully by the senior auditors as the leaders of the audit teams; the trainees not only need to perform the audit works competently in line with the existing financial rules, procedures, notifications, instructions and International Accounting Standards but also to understand the policies prescribed by the government, the nature of government departments and organizations, and technical progressive changes; and also need to be able to communicate with the audited organizations by mutual respect for achieving the audit objectives and to lead the audit team properly; and therefore the practical activities related to the auditing process in the form of Role Play were initiated at the training.

Also, he emphasized that the trainees should endeavour to become good civil servants who can perform their duties faithfully for the interests of the office and nation and to fulfil their professional knowledge by continuous learning.

During the three-week faceto-face training, 107 trainees from the Head Office, the Union Territory and the Auditor-General’s Offices of State/Region attended.

The permanent secretary, the director-general of Audit Department, the deputy permanent secretary, the deputy directors-general, responsible persons, trainers and accomplished trainees attended the ceremony.
