THE second coordination meeting of the Central Committee on Organizing the 75th Martyrs’ Day was held in Yangon Region yesterday.

During the meeting, Central Committee Chairman Union Minister for Religious Affairs and Culture U Ko Ko highlighted the need to follow COVID-19 health rules and to be aware of the security in holding the 75th Martyrs’ Day ceremony.

He also said there will be four sections of ceremony – offering the flower bouquet and paying salute to fallen leaders at the Martyrs’ Mausoleum, hoisting the State Flag at halfmast at the Secretariat Office (former Ministers’ Office) and holding ‘Soon’ (alms) donation ceremonies in Yangon and Nay Pyi Taw.

Bogyoke Aung San museums in Yangon and Natmauk will be opened to the public this year. Moreover, the meeting hall of the Secretariat (former Ministers’ Office) where the martyred leaders were fallen will be showcased.

The Union minister also instructed the committee and sub-committee to make the invitations to families of Martyrs, foreign ambassadors, political parties and NGOs, preparations for paying tribute and laying flowers including security, health and communication for the national-level event.

Then, the central committee vice-chairman and working committee chairman Yangon Region Chief Minister U Soe Thein and relevant officials explained the holding of 75th Martyrs’ Day.

The Union minister then concluded the meeting after the presentations of sub-committee members.

The Union minister and party inspected the preparations being carried out at City Hall, the Secretariat (former Ministers’ Office), Bogyoke Aung San Museum and Martyrs’ Mausoleum.
