THE health workers vaccinated the people over 18 living at Kyauktalon IDP camp in Kyaukphyu Township of Rakhine State for the first time yesterday.
Before the vaccination, the staff of the General Administration Department collected data and the health workers monitored the body temperatures and blood pressures of the people.
Ma Khin Lin Lin, from Kyauktalon IDP camp, said, “I get my first dose of vaccine at Kyauktalon IDP camp. I am 20 years old. I did not suffer anything like dizziness or pain. I am so happy that the people at the age of over 18 receive the vaccines. I have self-confidence after vaccination. I also thank the volunteers and the Head of the State for the vaccines.”
Then, a 69-year-old U Tin Tun said, " The health officials conducted vaccination programmes here for two times. I did not get the vaccines as I was sick at that time. Now, I am in good health and get vaccinated. I thank the health officials and Head of the country. This vaccine cannot be bought. Therefore, I urge those who live in the camp to get vaccinated."
The officials conducted vaccination for 21 people at the age of over 65 starting 4 August, and for the ones over 18 at the camp. 192 people received vaccines until yesterday afternoon, according to the township health official.
