Notification No 2/2021

1. Applicants who meet the requirements can apply to be employed as Assistant Surgeons under a contract in the hospitals and COVID-19 treatment centres under the Department of Medical Services.

2. Applicant

(a) must be a citizen of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar.

(b) must be a holder of an M.B.B.S Medical Degree and has a valid General Medical Licence (SaMa). (Or) those who have completed an internship must be able to submit a certificate of the internship completion, or the General Medical Licence (SaMa).

(c) must not be over 50 years old on the closing date of application.

(d) must not have a criminal record.

(e) The term of the contract shall be six months and duties must be performed in line with the terms of the contract.

3. To submit an application,

(a) Fill in the application form completely and with the necessary documents, applications must be submitted to the Director-General, Department of Medical Services, Office No (4), Nay Pyi Taw by 4 pm on 13-8-2021.

(b) Information to be attached to the application,

(1) Certificate of the Degree (copy) or recommendation letter for internship completion;

(2) Medical Licence (SaMa) (copy);

(3) One copy of the national identity card;

(4) Criminal clearance letter from the relevant police station under the Myanmar Police Force;

(5) Medical Certificate from the head of the relevant township health department;

(6) The application must be attached with a clear coloured photo taken within 6 months;

(7) The names of the public/private hospitals, clinics and organizations and the duration that the applicant previously served must be provided either in the prescribed format or separately;

(8) The hospitals/departments that one would like to work in should be listed in a prioritizing order.

4. The salary of the Assistant Surgeon will be fixed at the regular rate of (K275,000) with an allowance for other expenses.

5. The interview programme will be informed to each applicant.

6. For those who want to continue to serve as a civil servant while under the contract, the duration of working under the contract will be changed to “probation period” and counted to receive the employee benefits in accordance with the Civil Service Personnel Law and Rules.

7. The assistant surgeons working under the contract will have the same recognition and honour as permanent health workers for emergency medical care.
