UNION Minister for Agriculture, Livestock  and  Irrigation  U  Tin  Htut Oo met the academic and management  members  of  the  ministry’s relevant universities and training schools yesterday.

During  the  meeting,  the  Union  Minister  discussed  the  impacts  of  COVID-19  in  the  learning sector, the gap between the  rich  and  the  poor  and  the  opportunity to learn that directly reflect  the  development  of  the  country and the duties of teach-ers in the education sector.

The meeting also focused on preparations  for  the  reopening  of  university,  college  and  insti-tute  under  the  ministry,  secu-rity  measures,  researches  for  academic  and  learning,  aware-ness  programmes  for  farmers,  communication  with  local  and  foreign  universities  in  respec-tive  subjects,  job  opportunities  for graduated youths, holding of exams, upgrade of libraries and internet access for the students in university compound.

The final year courses and PhD courses at the universities, colleges,  and  training  schools  under the ministry, which were closed due to the COVID-19 pan-demic, will be reopened in May and June.
