Chinese government donated US$300,000 to the Joint Monitoring Committee on Ceasefire yesterday in support of the committee’s ceasefire efforts with the ethnic armed organizations.

The donation ceremony was held at the National Reconciliation and Peace Centre in Nay Pyi Taw.

During the ceremony, Chinese Ambassador to Myanmar Mr Chen Hai briefed the donation aimed at boosting China-Myanmar relationship. Then, JMC’s Chairman Lt-Gen Yar Pyae received the cash contribution and returned the certificate of honour.

Lt-Gen Yar Pyae also discussed the current efforts of JMC with the signatories and non-signatories to the Nationwide Ceasefire Agreement. (NCA).
