PLAN International Myanmar transferred braille and sign language video files about nine disasters for the persons with visual or hearing impairments yesterday.
The tools for PWDs were presented at the Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement, and Country Director of Plan International Myanmar Mr Haider Yaqub firstly briefed the donation.
Union Minister Dr Win Myat Aye said the ministry is making efforts for the children, youths, women and elderly people to get their individual rights in full in addition to the development.
The preventive measures and responses are also being carried out to overcome the risks of natural and human-made hazards in rehabilitation programmes.
The ministry leaves no one behind in its all plans, especially for the people with disabilities who are badly hit during natural disasters.
The School for the blind Kyimyindine of Social Welfare Department and Plan International Myanmar jointly created the braille for the blinds and sign language video files for the deaf people about nine kinds of dangers such as fire, flood, strong wind, storm, drought, earthquake, Tsunami, lightning and landslide. The braille and video files will be delivered to the PWDs via the federations of people with disabilities and other disabled people organizations.
