BAGAN-NyaungU Destination Management Organization (DMO) held a coordination meeting yesterday morning in Bagan.

NyaungU District Administrator U Kyaw Kyaw Ohn, in his capacity as Chairman of the Bagan- NyaungU Destination Management Organization, delivered the opening speech and Director for the Directorate of Hotels and Tourism in Mandalay Region U Zaw Myo Latt presented the objectives, duties and responsibilities, tourism facts and further processes.

Afterwards, Tour Guides Association, Bagan-NyaungU Hoteliers Association, Restaurant Business Association, Bagan Plastic Campaign and officials from civil society organizations discussed the most convincing performances to the region and DMO’s current activities.

Bagan- NyaungU Destination Management Organizationis formed with 21 objectives: to develop and raise the standard and quality of tourism in Bagan Archeological Zone, to coordinate with respective organizations which support the development of the cultural heritage, environmental conservation, human resources, to develop new itineraries in respective destinations and so on.

The meeting was also attended by respective officials from the NyaungU District Administration Department, the Directorate of Hotels and Tourism and Town’s Elders.
