Tripartite supporting workgroup under the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development Working Committee held a meeting via videoconferencing yesterday.

The meeting of MSME Agency, Fund Management Team and MSME Development Work Review, Coordination and Implementation Group was attended by Deputy Minister for Commerce U Aung Htoo ( MSME Agency Chairperson), Deputy Minister for Planning and Finance U Maung Maung Win (Fund Management Team Chairperson), Deputy Minister for Planning, Finance and Industry Dr Min Ye Paing Hein (MSME Agency Joint Chairperson), MSME Development Work Review, Coordination and Implementation Group Chairperson U Khin Maung Kyaw (retired Deputy Minister), Deputy Minister for Transport and Communications U Tha Oo (Vice-Chairperson of the implementation group), members of the three groups and invited guests.

During the meeting, Deputy Minister U Aung Htoo discussed ways to reduce the COVID-19 related impacts on MSMEs and to make MSMEs to be able to adapt to changing situations. He also discussed how to support MSMEs in various ways.

Deputy Minister Dr Min Ye Paing Hein discussed the development of certification systems for MSMEs and other related issues. He stressed that the MSME Agency needs to systematically work for the development of hard infrastructure and soft infrastructure.

Other participants including MSME Development Work Review, Coordination and Implementation Group Chairperson U Khin Maung Kyaw and UMFCCI Chairperson U Zaw Min Win also made discussions. A total of 40 people participated in the meeting.
