Chairman of the State Security and Peace Commission of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, accompanied by his entourage and officials, yesterday afternoon, inspected the Tatmadaw TV Broadcasting Unit in Hmawby Station.

Officials and staff of the unit warmly welcomed the Senior General and party.

At the meeting room, Director Maj-Gen Zaw Min Tun of the Directorate of Public Relations and Psychological Warfare and the commandant of the Tatmadaw TV Broadcasting Uunit (Hmawby) reported to the Senior General on the brief history of the unit, accomplishment of the guidance given by the SSPC Chairman of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services, and general requirements.

In his response to the reports, the Senior General gave guidance that it is necessary to continuously release both domestic and international news, special reports, and events of public interest accurately and in a timely manner.

He continued that as presentation of entertainment comprises both audio and visual effects, it is important not only to ensure good audio quality but also to have attire and appearance that match the nature of the programme being presented.

He stressed that broadcasting of news and programmes must be systematically based on a proper editing process.

The Senior General urged editors and supervisors to systematically supervise all functions of broadcasting.

He underlined that it is necessary to create beneficial public-oriented programmes that can bring advantages to the people and provide them with knowledge and awareness.

After visiting the Tatmadaw TV Broadcasting Unit (Hmawby), the Senior General gave necessary guidance to officials.

He signed the guests’ book of the unit. The Senior General then inspected the progress in the construction of the new staff mess of the unit and gave necessary instructions. The Senior General presented cash awards for Tatmadaw members and staff of the unit to the commandant and viewed the unit by car.
