THE Thai Embassy in Myanmar donated surgical masks to the Ministry of Health and Sports in Yangon yesterday morning.

Thai Ambassador to Myanmar Ms Suphatra Srimaitreephithak explained the donations and donated 400,000 surgical masks worth 1.2 million baht.

Director-General for Medical Research Department Professor Dr Zaw Than Tun expressed words of thanks and presented certificates of honour after receiving the donations.

Similarly, the Japanese government also donated US$5.18 million worth of RT-PCR Machine & Laptop Computer to National Health Laboratory (NHL) in Yangon in the same afternoon.

Japanese Ambassador to Myanmar Mr Ichiro Maruyama briefed the donations and Director-General for Medical Research Department Professor Dr Zaw Than Tun expressed words of thanks.

Then, the Japanese Ambassador handed over the RT-PCR Machine & Laptop Computer to Deputy Director-General (Lab) of the NHL Professor Dr Htay Htay Tin and received the certificate of honour in return.
