In the media era of today, the media sector is of great importance. Being the state-owned media, it should contribute to the nation’s development and actively participate in nation-building, peace and prosperous processes while providing the public with accurate news, opinions and thoughts, together with happiness and joy, in addition to its three main duties — to inform, to entertain and to educate, said Union Minister U Maung Maung Ohn.

He said so yesterday to the fresher staff who attended the capacity-building training and fresher welcome event at the Auditorium of MRTV in Tatkon, Nay Pyi Taw.

The Union minister also urged the attendees to manage better media connecting with modern technologies including AI, follow the rules, serve duties as per the motto “Live with discipline, act with loyalty and bravery”, think about innovative ideas and try to be loyal servants for the country and the people.

He then urged them to constantly keep themselves sharp like swords, otherwise, they would dull. He added that MRTV boasts various ethnic people, and all are serving duties for the sake of the country in unity and with the same purpose. The Prime Minister also appreciates such actions, so the MRTV staff need to work hard with good attitude, right mindset, opinion and goodwill.

The event was also attended by Permanent Secretary U Win Kyaw Aung, departmental officials, officers and staff of MRTV.

A total of 89 staff members joined the capacity-building training.

After the event, U Maung Maung Ohn and officials inspected the installation of the third phase (250 tonnes) out of the fourth phase (1,000 tonne, chiller system) at the main building and two locations for water purifiers that can produce 500 litres per hour for the staff.

Afterwards, they observed the “training on sharing and applying the experiences of international television stations”. Four instructors who served duties at international television stations will deliver lectures and practical sessions for two weeks, and the training was joined by 25 trainees.

The Union minister and party had lunch together with officers and freshers of MRTV at the Office Canteen.
