STATE Administration Council members and the regional government launched several community-focused initiatives in Kayin State, covering environmental, agricultural, and cultural areas on 7 November. SAC members Mahn Nyein Maung and Khun San Lwin, accompanied by Union Minister Jeng Phang Naw Taung, leader of the SAC Central Advisory Body U Saw Tun Aung Myint and Kayin State Chief Minister U Saw Myint Oo, attended a fish stocking event near Thanlwin River at Tayokhla Village in Hpaan Township.

At the ceremony, fingerlings of various species were released to boost fish populations in the region. This cumulative effort brings the total to 1.3 million fish stocked over recent months, aimed at promoting ecological balance and supporting local livelihoods.

Following the environmental initiatives, the officials visited Naungkhaying Village, where they attended a practical demonstration of fertilizer usage. To support farmers, 300 bags of fertilizer – both organic and chemical – were distributed to improve crop yields across local paddy fields. This measure aims to support sustainable agriculture practices in the region, providing valuable resources to enhance soil productivity.

In addition to these community support efforts, SAC members observed and participated in local cultural events in Hpa-an. Marking the 69th anniversary of Kayin State Day, the SAC member awarded prizes to participants in the traditional Lethwei competition, with standout matches involving renowned fighters Yan Naing Tun (Zwekapin Myay) and Aung Khaing (Cement Factory), each receiving a K5 million prize.

Additionally, they attended the third night of a local Don dance contest, awarding a total of K39 million to nine participating teams, with individual contributions of K1 million from Mahn Nyein Maung, Khun San Lwin, and Union Minister Jeng Phang Naw Taung, and K900,000 from Deputy Minister U Zaw Aye Maung.
