DEPUTY Minister for Transport and Communications U Aung Myaing attended the Fifth Myanmar-China Think Tank Forum held in Yunnan Province, China, on 29 and 30 October. The forum aims to enhance cooperation in the transport, trade, and economic sectors between the two countries.
The forum, established in 2017, fosters collaboration to strengthen connectivity, increase trade volumes, and build stronger economic partnerships. Deputy Minister U Aung Myaing delivered an opening speech, participated in discussions, and addressed collaboration on transport initiatives.
Forum attendees discussed ways to expand transport networks, boost trade volume, and establish strategies for enhanced economic cooperation. Senior officials from Myanmar’s Department of Transport Planning, Myanma Railways, Department of Trade, and Department of Highways, along with representatives from the Myanmar Institute of Strategic and International Studies (MISIS), Mandalay Region Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Myanmar Fishery Products Producers and Exporters Association, and private sector organizations joined the deputy minister.
Representatives from the Yunnan provincial government, led by the deputy administrator of Yunnan Province, also joined the event.
