ACCORDING to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Myanmar Ambassador to ROK U Thant Sin attended the “2024 Korea-ASEAN Intellectual Property Cooperation Conference” on 24 October at the Hotel Naru Seoul MGallery in Seoul, where he delivered a congratulatory remark.
According to the MoFA report, the conference was convened to assess the current landscape of intellectual property rights in Korea and ASEAN and to establish a platform for cooperation between the private sectors of Korea and ASEAN on intellectual property matters. The conference was hosted by Korea’s Presidential Council on Intellectual Property and organized by the Federation of Intellectual Property Societies of Korea.
Furthermore, the ambassador emphasized that strong and active collaboration to enhance public awareness of intellectual property rights is a crucial factor in successfully implementing the commitments under the comprehensive strategic partnership agreement between Korea and ASEAN.
The conference was attended by the ambassadors of ASEAN embassies in Seoul, as well as officials from the Presidential Council on Intellectual Property, the Ministry of Science and ICT, and the Ministry of Culture, Science and Tourism, along with intellectual property experts and professionals from Korea, ASEAN, and various IP-related organizations in Korea.
