ACADEMY Award-winning actor Khant Sithu, along with fellow artistes, donated essential food supplies such as rice and oil to residents affected by flooding in Singaing Township, Mandalay Region, on 22 October.

The donations were distributed to 330 families in Wunpatate village who had been impacted by the disaster. The relief supplies included rice, oil, and other foodstuffs. Additionally, it was reported that offerings and monetary donations were made to the Shwe San Nwe Monastic School in Mandalay, along with contributions of various essential items.

"Due to the flooding in Wunpatate village, over 330 homes were destroyed. In response to a request for help from the Sayadaw of the Shwe San Nwe monastery, we provided donations to support the families affected by the disaster. These included rice, oil, medicine, salt, soap, curry powder, fish sauce, tea, mock meat, dried noodles, clothing, school supplies, blankets, snacks, basic necessities, sanitary pads, and kitchen items like plates, spoons, and cups, along with clean water bottles, shoes, and other essentials. The total value of the donations is estimated at around 25 million kyats," said Khant Sithu.

Khant Sithu, artistes, and other generous donors also visited the flood-stricken community in Loikaw Township, Kayah State, on 4 October. There, they supported 500 people with donations of rice, oil, food supplies, and monetary aid.
