Second Amendment Law to Counter-Terrorism Law

State Administration Council Law No 56/2024

9th Waning of Tawthalin 1386 ME

The State Administration Council has enacted this Law under Section 419 of the Constitution of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar.

1. This Law shall be called the Second Amendment Law to the Counter-Terrorism Law.

2. Sub-Section (d) of Section 6 of the Counter-Terrorism Law shall be substituted as follows: –

“ (d) adopting necessary measures, for prevention, removal and dismantling of weapons of mass destruction which include biological, chemical and nuclear weapons and radioactive materials, as well as financial support for the above matters which encroach on international peace, security and stability; according to the resolutions of the United Nation Security Council.

3. Section 53 of the Counter-Terrorism Law shall be substituted as follows: –

53. “Whoever violates any prohibition of the Law, rules and regulations, notifications, orders, directives and procedures, fails to follow any fixed duties, be punished with imprisonment of no more than two years or shall also be liable to a fine no more than K10 million or shall be punished with imprisonment and fine. If the company or organization violates, they shall be liable to a fine from a minimum of K20 million to a maximum of K300 million.”
