The relief flight of MAI (Myanmar Airways International) landed at Yangon International Airport yesterday evening, bringing a total of 102 Myanmar nationals back home via Incheon International Airport.

Among these returnees, 1 Myanmar national is from Germany while another 1 is from South Africa, 2 from Brazil, 3 each from UK, Belgium, Canada and Indonesia, 4 from Norway, 11 from the US and 68 from the Republic of Korea.

Similarly, another charter flight of MNA (Myanmar National Airlines) also landed at Yangon International Airport at the same time, bringing 30 Myanmar seamen stranded in Singapore under the arrangement of Myanmar Embassy and their relevant cruise line companies.

As they arrived in Yangon, officials from the Ministry of Labour, Immigration and Population, the Ministry of Health and Sports, and the Yangon Region government helped for their 21-day quarantine period in line with the regulations of immigration and medical checks.

For the repatriation of Myanmar citizens who were stranded in foreign countries by relief flights and chartered flights in accordance with the instructions from National-Level Central Committee on Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs cooperated with the relevant ministries and Myanmar embassies from respective countries, and has organized 21 relief flights to pick up Myanmar nationals via the Republic of Korea to date.
