Government of the Republic of Turkey donated COVID-19 prevention items to Ministry of Health and Sports of Myanmar for the effective response to the pandemic yesterday.

The donation ceremony was held at the headquarters of Department Medical Research on Ziwaka Road in Dagon Township, Yangon.

Turkish ambassador to Myanmar Mr Kerem Divanlioglu explained the donation and Director-General of Department of Medical Research Professor Dr Zaw Than Tun expressed thanks for the donation.

Deputy Director-General Dr Hlaing Myat Thu and Project Coordinator of the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) Office Mr Fahri Burak Aydogdu signed the donation worth about US$55,000. The Director-General received the donation items handed over by the Ambassador, and returned the certificate of honour.
