DEPUTY Minister for Electric Power U Aye Kyaw inspected progress of the restoration of Mocha-hit power lines and substations in Sittway yesterday morning.

First, the Deputy Minister inspected the constructions and repairs of damaged power lines and the installation of power cables on the university campus in Sittway of Rakhine State and the No 36 Security Police Branch and transformers and accessories inside Sittway Golf Course and Rakhine State Hluttaw Office, and reinstallation of 11 KV and 400 volt power lines.

Urban and rural areas in Sittway, Ponnagyun, Kyauktaw, MraukU, Minbya and Myebon townships are being electrified. Yesterday afternoon, power has been distributed through the 100 kVA transformer and 200 kVA transformer into the office of Rakhine State Hluttaw.

The 66 kV Ponnagyun– Rathedaung power line reconstruction work has completed by 72 per cent, the 66 kV Rathedaung-Buthidaung power line 65 per cent; 79 villages had been implemented. Power lines for 79 villages have been repaired, 49 villages were underway. Sittway University was electrified on 10 June, University of Computer Studies on 12 June, Technical High School on 20 June, Technological University on 22 June and No 36 Security Police Branch on 2 June.
