Rescue and rehabilitation operations are being implemented in the areas facing extensive loss and damage caused by the Mandalay earthquake.
Yesterday, Lt-Gen Thet Pon from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Army) and relevant officials inspected the assessment of soil condition to expand the pagoda platform, renovation work and cleanliness activities at SunU Ponnyashin, Yaza Mani Cula Kaunghmutaw pagodas and Metta Lake in Sagaing.
They also inspected the the demolition of damaged buildings and removal of debris at Thakyadita nunnery and Tawlayhtet, and reconstruction processes.
They proceeded to Sagaing Education Degree College and observed the removal of debris from damaged buildings.

They inspected the healthcare services provided by Tatmadaw medics and water purification processes using Ayeyawady River water.

Lt-Gen Soe Tint Naing from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Army) and officials oversaw the clearing of debris at the collapsed building at religious sites in Mandalay and donated cash to Presiding Sayadaw of Shin Pin Ohn Inn Monastery.
They went to the Wahkhinngon public playground in Chanayethazan township and inspected the installation of container houses for quake-affected staff and public and roadbed levelling operations.
