Due to the Mandalay earthquake that struck on 28 March 2025, damage was reported in the Nay Pyi Taw Council Area, Sagaing Region, Mandalay Region, Magway Region, Shan State, and Bago Region. Domestic and international donors and philanthropists have provided humanitarian assistance, including essential supplies and medicines, and an official announcement regarding these support activities from 13 to 19 May was released on 21 May.
From 20 to 27 May, out of the tents, generators, foodstuffs, commodities, electronic devices, medicines and medical supplies donated by donors from Thailand, Sir Lanka and China, the medicines and medical supplies were distributed to the Ministry of Health, while the foodstuffs, commodities and kitchen utensils to Nay Pyi Taw, Sagaing Region, Mandalay Region and Shan State depending on the population.
On 23 March, 11,930.505 tonnes of diesel and 2,940.055 tonnes of petrol donated by China arrived at the Thilawa Port, and the Ministry of Energy stored 29,930.505 tonnes of diesel and 19,940.055 tonnes of petrol and used them in rehabilitation and reconstruction processes.
A total of 225 tonnes of cement (4,500 bags) donated by India arrived at Thilawa Port on 25 May. The Indian Ambassador handed over the donation to the Yangon Region chief minister, and they will be transported to the quake-affected areas.
Out of 500 prefabricated offices donated by China, 340 arrived on 2 May, while 160 arrived on 24 May at Thilawa Port in Yangon, and are now being used as temporary offices in quake-stricken areas.
Out of 4,500 prefabricated houses donated by China, 1,576 houses arrived on 9 May while 1804 on 13 May and 1,120 on 24 May at Thilawa Port, and the houses are being used in quake-hit areas.
To date, 61 vehicles loaded with relief materials have been distributed to Mandalay Region, while 32 to Sagaing Region and 11 to Shan State (South).
The inventory of distribution of donated items by international donors from 20 to 27 May is mentioned in the separate spreadsheets. The distribution processes will be released once a week.
