AT 12:51:02 pm on 28 March, a very strong earthquake with a magnitude of 7.7 on the Richter Scale struck, centred at a depth of 10 kilometres. The epicentre was approximately 21 kilometres northeast of the Mandalay seismic station and about 20 kilometres northeast of Mandalay City, at coordinates 22.09° North Latitude and 96.23° East Longitude. Following the main quake, about three aftershocks were recorded.

As you know, an earthquake jolted Nay Pyi Taw Council Area, Mandalay Region, Sagaing Region and other areas at about 12:51 pm Myanmar Standard Time on 28 March 2025. The earthquake centred at a depth of 10 kilometres, 20 kilometres northeast of Mandalay. It was a very strong earthquake with a magnitude of 7.7 on the Richter Scale, and the main earthquake was followed by three aftershocks.
