FOREIGN embassies’ officials and their family members led by Union Minister U Kyaw Tin of the Ministry of International Cooperation went on a diplomatic tour from 8 to 10 February to see the natural sceneries, cultural entities, and development progress in Dawei city, Myeik Archipelago and their vicinities of the Taninthayi Region.
The diplomatic delegation left Yangon for Dawei by Myanmar Airways yesterday morning. Responsible personnel of the Taninthayi Region greeted them at Dawei airport.

THE 15th regular session of the Second Amyotha Hluttaw convened its fifth-day meeting yesterday.
MP U Bwe Khein of Chin State constituency 3 asked if the high school building in Hmaungtalan Village, Thantlang Township, will be replaced with a new one in 2020-2021 financial year. Deputy Education Minister U Win Maw Tun replied it will be prioritized in that financial year.

THE Central Committee on Monitoring and Prevention of 2019 Novel Coronavirus held its daily coordination meeting (11/2020) at the Ministry of Health and Sports yesterday in Nay Pyi Taw.
Speaking at the meeting, Union Minister for Health Dr Myint Htwe appreciated the China’s treatment to patients who have positive for the disease as the mortality rate is just two per cent.
The number of infection rate is still higher in China and over 28,000 people have been infected with the Corona virus so far.

VICE PRESIDENT U Henry Van Thio left the Republic of Korea for Myanmar at 1:50 am local time yesterday after attending the Peace, Security and Human Development World Summit 2020 in Seoul, ROK.

VICE President U Myint Swe attended the 12th Private Sector Development Committee Meeting (PSDC), in his capacity as Chairman, and the coordination meeting of Ease of Doing Business Ranking Promotion Working Group (EDBRP) in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.
The Vice President said the committee has been in existence for three years as it was formed on 24 October 2016 with 20 members to implement the five objectives for private sector development, led by three deputy ministers and two permanent secretaries.
