Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, selected as Vice-President by the group of elected Pyithu Hluttaw representatives, was elected as President by the Presidential Electoral College comprising all Pyidaungsu Hluttaw representatives at the presidential election on 3 April 2026. In the secret presidential ballot, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing secured 429 valid votes from the Pyithu Hluttaw group, while U Nyo Saw received 126 votes from Defence Services Personnel representatives, and Nan Ni Ni Aye obtained 29 votes from the Amyotha Hluttaw group.
