A total of 39,749 acres of long-staple cotton are planned for cultivation in Minhla Township, Magway Region, during the current financial year, with 7,858 acres planted to date, according to the Magway Region Department of Agriculture.

The Magway Region Chief Minister accompanied by regional ministers, met cotton growers in Pantawpyin Village-tract, Minhla Township, on 1 August. During the visit, he distributed compound fertilizers to long-staple cotton farmers and overviewed a two-acre high-yield model plot of long-staple cotton cultivated by farmer U Aung Thura.

The Chief Minister and party also visited a tissue-culture banana plantation in Pantawpyin Village.
