Countries around the world have experienced employment losses over successive eras due to various factors. Economic downturns, rapid technological advancements, pandemics, competition driven by globalization and international trade, shifts in government policies, market trends, and internal instability are key causes of unemployment.

The Ministry of Health (MoH), Myanmar, laid down two objectives: to enable every citizen to attain full life expectancy and enjoy longevity of life and to ensure that every citizen is free from diseases. In doing such, Emergency Medical Services (EMS) are one of the main supporting activities. The Union Minister for Health and Chairperson of the Nay Pyi Taw Council attended the Launching Ceremony of the Emergency Medical Services within the Nay Pyi Taw Union Territory on 18 February 2025 at the Ministry of Health meeting hall.

History is indelible, and 12 February 2025 marks the 78th Union Day of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar. Throughout Myanmar’s history, it was only under the reigns of Anawrahta, Bayintnaung, and Alaungpaya that we managed to chronicle the unity of all national brethren in the archive called history. On 12 February 1947, the endeavours of our national leader, General Aung San, and the martyrs – to put an end to the apartheid imposed by the British government between Upper and Lower Myanmar – were acknowledged. The Panglong Agreement was reached between the leaders representing Upper Myanmar and the government of Myanmar, led by General Aung San. This agreement was a prerequisite demanded by the British government for Myanmar to attain independence.

With its rich environmental resources, including extensive coastal areas and vast waters, Myanmar’s blue economy presents a key opportunity for achieving sustainable development through the long-term utilization of coastal natural resources.

TUBERCULOSIS, malaria and HIV are three major dis­eases which threaten human society today. Tuberculosis (TB) is an infectious disease caused by the transmission of the tuberculosis bacteria. It is a disease related to social and economic factors.

RAKHINE State is rich in cultural heritage and artistic treasures, reflecting its long history. As a region where Buddhism is flourishing, Rakhine State has abundant ancient stupas and temples as cultural heritage.

The national-level sporting event was grandly and ceremoniously held at the national stadium on 9 December, where athletes from different regions of the country are currently participating in various sports competitions. In preparation for the games, athletes from each region have been actively training and preparing in their respective sports. The relevant state and regional governments have been providing systematic support, and organizing necessary facilities and resources.

Mountains are integral to human society, but unchecked deforestation and tree cutting can render them barren. As a result, these barren mountains contribute to climate change and the global warming process.

Illegal trade is defined by the World Trade Organization as the “production, purchase, shipment, transfer, possession, or distribution of goods that are classified as illegal according to international laws, as well as any activities aimed at encouraging such actions”.

World Philosophy Day 2024 was observed on 21 November. The United Nations Educational Scientific and Culture Organization (UNESCO) established the third Thursday of November as World Philosophy Day in 2002.
