AS the Thanlwin River’s water level rose to 900 cm, surpassing the critical flood stage of 750 cm, more than 5,000 residents of Hpa-an Township were relocated to flood relief camps. The Kayin State government reported the establishment of six temporary relief camps and ongoing efforts by relevant departments to address the flood disaster and increase the number of temporary shelters.
