A flower festival will be held at the Water Fountain Garden in Zabuthiri Township of Nay Pyi Taw Council Area from 14 February to 31 March.
The first event of its kind in the capital city of Myanmar will be celebrated together with entertainment programmes of famous singers, while young vocalists from Myanmar Idol will sing on the weekends till 31 March.
Daw Nu Nu Win, the manager from Sun Myat Construction Group Co., Ltd which is preparing for floral decorations at the event, said, “We have collected over 200,00 plants in more than 30 flowering plant species for the first flower festival in Nay Pyi Taw. Playgrounds for children and photography locations for couple photo shoot will also be set up at the festival.”
During the festival, the entry fee for each adult would be K1,500, and their children up to 5 years of age could be brought together free of charge.
The festival will also have a space for food stalls.
Ma Honey Soe, the resident in Nay Pyi Taw, said: “We are now visiting the Water Fountain Garden to see preparations for the Flower Festival in advance, and also being excited to enjoy the performance of famous singers.”
The festival is aimed at entertaining civil service personnel in Nay Pyi Taw and to attract both domestic and foreign visitors.
The Nay Pyi Taw Water Fountain Garden was opened on 4 January 2008 as an amusement park and an environmental conservation site.
