THE 3rd Joint Technical Committee on Coordination and Assignment of Frequencies Along Thailand-Myanmar Common Border Meeting (JTC-3) was held at the Bagan Umbra Hotel in Bagan yesterday.

With the aim of coordinating the matters related to frequencies along the Thailand-Myanmar common border, Directorate of Communications under the Ministry of Transports and Communications of Myanmar and National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC) of Thailand have formed a Joint Technical Committee-JTC.
The JTC meetings is held annually and hosted alternatively between the two countries.
At the third JTC meeting in Myanmar, Director-General U Myo Swe of Directorate of Communications made greeting remarks, followed by Executive Director Mr Saneh Saiwong of Spectrum Management Bureau of NBTC expressing words of thanks.
With the cooperation between the two nations’ organizations, to continuously tackle the frequency interference at the two nations’ common border was one of the agendas of the JTC meeting.
Nearly 90 attendees at the meeting included officials from Directorate of Communications, and representatives from communications operators, MRTV, Myawaddy TV, broadcasting sectors and NBTC. The meeting continues till 16 January.
