Acting President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, Chairman of the State Security and Peace Commission of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, attended an honorary dinner to mark the centenary of Mandalay University at the Convocation Hall of the university yesterday evening.

Also, present at the dinner were his wife Daw Kyu Kyu Hla, Commission Secretary and Joint Executive Chief General Ye Win Oo and his wife, Commission member Lt-Gen Yar Pyae and his wife, Union ministers and their wives, the Mandalay Region chief minister, senior Tatmadaw officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief and their wives, scholars, rectors, pro-rectors, faculty members, town elders, students and alumnis.

On arrival at the venue of the dinner, the Acting President and SSPC Chairman of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar and his wife were welcomed by officials and alumni.

The Acting President and SSPC Chairman of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar and his wife, and attendees had dinner in honour of the 100th anniversary of Mandalay University.

Before and during the dinner, students and alumni from Mandalay University, Mandalay University of Distance Education, Mandalay Education Degree College and Meiktila Education Degree College, as well as students from the National University of Arts and Culture (Mandalay), performed songs and dances.

After the dinner, the Acting President and SSPC Chairman of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar and his wife presented a flower basket and cash awards to those who performed songs and dances.

The Acting President and SSPC Chairman of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar and his wife enjoyed performances of the Myoma Band and presented a flower basket and cash awards to those performers.
