Union Minister for Immigration and Population U Myint Kyaing received Myanmar-India Friendship Association Chairman U Win Myint at the Ministry in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.

During the meeting, the Union minister appreciated the efforts of the association in enhancing the bilateral relations and highlighted the prolonged cooperation between the two countries as good neighbours. He briefed that the Indian government provided the technicians for the e-ID system, and the ministry will provide the needed support to the association regarding the ministry-related work procedures.

The association chairman also briefed on the emergence of the association, the formation and the intention of the meeting.

He presented cash for the quake-affected staff of the ministry to the Union minister and received the certificate of honour in return.

Also present at the meeting were Deputy Minister U Htay Hlaing, the permanent secretary, departmental officials, and representatives of the association.
