The 75th-anniversary commemoration of the Myanmar Photographers Association and the opening ceremony of the 58th Myanmar National Photography Art Exhibition took place yesterday morning at Sule Square Mall, located on Sule Pagoda Road in Yangon.

The ceremony was officially opened by the association’s leaders, including the president and officials, who cut the ribbon. The president of the Myanmar Photographers Association, lifetime achievement award recipient in Myanmar cinema, and renowned director U Pachi Soe Moe gave a welcoming speech. Senior photographers, including U Tin Myint (Sit Pan Nyein), U Pe Myint Oo and U Htin Lin (Golden Arrow), also delivered speeches. In the afternoon, Director Di Pa delivered a lecture on various aspects of photography.

The 58th Myanmar National Photography Art Exhibition will be open from 12 to 16 March, offering a five-day exhibition. During this period, various photography-related discussions and lectures will be held daily. Those interested are welcome to attend free of charge.

The competition includes categories such as Black and White, Colour Photography, Portraits, Creative Digital Photography, Photo Essay and Mobile Phone Photography. A total of 56 participants have submitted 714 photographs for the competition. The winners will be honoured on 16 March.
